THE REBEL: SETH JAXX

Seth Jaxx. The name is punctual. Straight to the point. But who is he?
For a time, the 20-year-old rapper and composer wasn’t even sure of that answer himself.
Seth Jaxx had to find more than himself. He had to find his sound, his message, his name. After 2 years of recording music, 7 years of talk, and a background in music, Seth Jaxx found the answers to all these questions.
He is himself, the truth unapologetic. The 604 rebel. Since he began to take his music seriously in 2019, Jaxx has been on a personal journey that has led him to where he is now; the place where realness and ambition come together to make something fresh, yet strangely nostalgic. He had began writing lyrics in high school, but it wasn’t until he moved for post-secondary that he began composing songs with YouTube & BeatStars beats to release. During this time, Jaxx also met JMBeats of BoomTrack Productions, who brought a new level of producing and recording music to the young rapper. Seth Jaxx went on to release a number of mixtapes and LP’s as well as numerous singles. He experimented with different styles over the years before settling where he is now.
Seth Jaxx has everything to prove in Hip Hop, but he welcomes the challenge. With hits such as Run it Back, We Good, Full Auto, and more, every song of Jaxx’s is a new canvas with a new vibe. A prolific lyricist, Jaxx is always writing and recording whenever he can, and sharpening his craft. Jaxx has a song for every sound, and a sound for every song.

Born and raised in greater Vancouver, the 20-year-old initially used SoundCloud & Spotify as a means to reach his audience. With his first mixtape a local success, Jaxx followed it up quickly with his breakout record ’01 Flows EP supported by the tracks Get My Rings, Geekin’ (Life is Aight), a cover of Drake & Future’s Life is Good has Jaxx rapping about failed relationships and false perceptions, as well as the autotune-heavy early trap throwback Money In Money Out. Jaxx went on to release a number of hit singles with his next release, the mixtapes Trust the Process, Vol. 1 and 1.5, including Bredren Freestyle, a 7 minute flow with collaborator Smokk-E, as well as Dream 9teen, a monotone flexing rap detailing Jaxx’s life amidst the global shutdown, and new possibilities.
As time went on, Jaxx quickly realized that in order to convey his message to the masses, he had to adapt. Thus, YoungVanRebels was born. As our founder, Seth Jaxx aims to uplift not just his own music career, but that of his contemporaries too. In building an organic global community of dedicated fans of Vancouver hiphop, and further developing the local modern music scene, he as YVR wants to create a network of accessible collaboration for the creatives and artists of Vancouver.

“-As long as I stay true to myself and the grind, there is no limit to what I can leave behind”
