CRADLE 2 THE CRYPT – SETH JAXX – NEW RELEASE
CRADLE 2 THE CRYPT is Seth Jaxx’s latest EP, released on June 30, 2023. This EP is the resolution of the series of releases that began with Jaxx’s first 2023 hit, G.O.A.T. NRG, which has amassed near 2000+ streams across platforms thus far. Powered by lead single G.O.A.T. NRG, and following up with single MI VIDA LOCA in mid June to prime the streets for the EP drop, we see the young artist kicking off a masterful run of studio releases. With much more to come this year, Seth Jaxx is going beast mode in the booth. Getting back to the basics, the vibe presented by this 4-track compilation is of a minimalist-no-bullshit, old school aesthetic. Over 4 tracks, Jaxx demonstrates his talk. Swag walk, he ain’t creasing these retros, call that respect for the past. To him, there was never any other option, this music is life and death. From his earliest days on the piano fast-forwarded to the present, Mr. Jaxx is strictly business, mawfk. Letting us know his dedication to the trade over 12 minutes of straight bars, the young artist has again eclipsed his former self and outdone himself as usual. It shouldn’t be a surprise with his work ethic having banged out this EP in less than 2 weeks that Seth Jaxx is here to stay.
Makings of a G.O.A.T.
He’s not a G.O.A.T. yet but he’s making progress, with a 2Pacesque work ethic. Recorded at 2Track Studios, Jaxx’s early 2023 single G.O.A.T. NRG was long in the making. First drafted in the fall of 2020 with iterations released as a freestyle over Jack Harlow’s Tyler Herro instrumental, the original track was removed from SoundCloud for using an uncleared sample after blowing up with 500 streams in the first 2 hours of release. Learning his lesson and taking it as an example of why Jaxx needed his own sound, the song was put in the vault. It took until he linked up with Calgary producer XaViOn in 2022 and heard one of his beats that Jaxx realized it was the perfect flow for the heavy track.
Jaxx first performed G.O.A.T. NRG as a demo without backing vocals at the Lxst Religion x YVR showcase in July 2022. He performed the song back home in Vancouver before laying down the final take at 2Track Studios. Released in February 2023, G.O.A.T. That Dawg In Me
The striking artwork came as a spur-of-the-moment shoot when Jaxx was recording at famed Vancouver studio 2Track Entertainment. Aanother artist was shooting an interview for Rolling Stone when the doberman was brought in for the post-interview promo photos. Jaxx passed through and was awestruck by the dogs’ poise; he had just said goodbye to his own doberman the previous summer after returning home from tour. Something all dog owners can relate to is the loss of their friend. Jaxx shares this intimate detail from his personal life bringing even more depth to this release. Whether it was destiny or perfect timing, Jaxx connected with the handler and her doberman, Kuna, and captured the photos that would be used for the album artwork. He had only decided on making this EP the previous week, and knew this was no coincidence.

Inspired by the chaos of a young artist’s life navigating distractions, outlining exploits, and staying true in the face of tribulations, young Jaxx vents his energy across 4 banging tracks, each more unhinged than the last. Some say that Seth Jaxx doesn’t open up, that he isn’t vulnerable in his music. If you think that’s true, you aren’t listening to his words. Jaxx uplifts himself and the listener, offering solutions to the problems faced in the next breath. He does not wallow in the pain. Jaxx wants to be motivational, not an emo. His method of dealing with the demons involves flaying them live on the track. He does not allow their bad vibes to overtake him or his fans. Now, with yet another (7 total) projects under his belt before his 22nd birthday, Seth Jaxx is entering Virgo Szn with a clear vision of what he desires from his music career. How will he execute?
