Boslen: A New Dawn in the Mountains

Since his career shot into the West Coast mainstream with the hit singles Eye for an Eye and Hidden Nights, local artist Boslen has quickly risen as one of the most promising young voices out of Vancouver. Blending multiple styles in his music, some might compare Bozzy’s ethereal and experimental sounds with that of American rappers A$AP Rocky, Eighty4 Fly, and Kid Cudi. Also using a wide range of flows, notes, and tones, the 604 star effortlessly glides over bass-heavy yet melodic beats to create a genre along the lines of street soul; with a modern and West Coast twist. Working closely with Turkish-Canadian producer and acquaintance justsayin has brought some of Boslen’s best work; his new album DUSK TO DAWN. Is it enough to push the talented musician to golden horizons?
“-Look what you’ve become, conquered everything it’s ours”
Boslen has taken the city by storm, but the kingdom is vast. A conqueror is never satisfied, and is always pushing themself to higher goals. This hunger and ambition that Boslen is fuelled by is evident in his personal and artistic growth, as well as his catalogue. From the mixtapes to the mixed and mastered, he has taken the steps to do even greater things, and will only prove his prowess further. With each release, Boslen seems to outdo himself again and again with new sounds, and inch ever closer to his fullest potential.
Using the “album experience” method of album construction, DUSK TO DAWN is a story in itself. From the first track DUSK to finale DAWN, the album is a smooth odyssey through Bozzy’s identity and vision. Supported by the singles Vultures, My Ways, Trip, Deny with Tyla Yahweh, and Quartz with fellow Canadian singer Charmaine, the album also includes features from big names such as Dro Kenji, Vory, Rascalz, and more. In film, Boslen has created and recorded music videos and live performances for all of his singles and hits, amassing 20k-190k YouTube views per video. In the creative lab, Boslen has done both bars and visuals at Vancouver’s legendary Hiphop studio 2 Track Entertainment, Bozzy is active in the city with the latter, release parties, fan networking, and has worked with many local industry professionals under his management company and label Chaos Club Digital.
All considered, Boslen is more than making a case for the throne of the modern West Coast. His deep lyrics, eye-catching visuals, and experimental creativity is unmatched in the current game, and that plays in to Bozzy’s success as Vancouver’s first new-era Hiphop star.
“-Praying up above, I can almost see the towers”
This is the city’s letter back to you, you can see them now Bozzy. You’ve got to the penthouse suite above Van City, and we all want to see you go and make your palace. The peak is yet to be defined.
